This legendary material arises thanks to the cooling of lava from volcanoes. In pre-Hispanic times, volcanic stone was used to create tools and objects. Its main function was to grind foods such as corn and other nuts. To date, its most common use in Mexico is in molcajetes, thanks to the non-toxic mineral released by the stone, they are used by great chefs because it gives a special and characteristic touch to molcajeteada sauces.

We feel that it is a very Mexican material, it challenges us and inspires us to create more contemporary pieces, based on its texture, its color, its different uses and its ancestral power.

We create tables, salsa vases, spice racks, molcajetes, tortilleros, etc. The process for the development of these pieces begins with the search for the stone in the mountain, not all stones are suitable for working, then they go through a long process of manual carving that is carried out in the town of San Salvador El Seco, Puebla . , where small pieces can take a couple of hours to prepare but 1 large piece up to 1 full day.

We love to work with lapidaries and beig part of the process.
